Images of most recent work: a vintage kimono backing, the front has eco-dyed fabric and threads, hand sashiko style stitches, soft sculpture–it stands.
Holding this piece in hand leaves me feeling like I’m holding soft precious article found in the forest that might decay in short order.
This beautiful piece of wood was in my path this morning on my walk…drilled full of holes and lying rather like a spine of an animal long dead–bones left behind in the grass. A sapsucker most likely left the damaged areas whilst trying to devour insects that lived in the tree.
Putty or some kind of gum, trod on and left looking similar to a shell…
